Our business was founded in 1902 by August Kussmann in Cologne. The firm specialised in the manufacture of cast-iron signs. On February 1st, 1922, the Association of the Rights of Citizens was created after Josef Berkenhoff joined the firm. From this time on, our firm was named Kussmann & Berkenhoff, and it became a limited company in 1992.
After the war, the firm moved to Bergisch Gladbach due to war-related damage, and a new product was introduced, the etched metal sign.

Stainless steel signs are our speciality, and here over 15to V2A annually are processed. Engraving and signs made of thin leaf metal foil complete our product palette. We sell 20% of our products abroad.
